Jane Lee

Mrs. Jane A. Lee is a native of Pittsburgh, PA and holds a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh, and is a certified Biblical counselor. Currently. Mrs. Lee is the Deveolpment Director at Women for a Healthy Environment (WHE (Women for a Healthy Environment)). Before WHE, she was Development Manager at Youthplaces and the Director of Education. Mrs. Lee began her non-profit career with the Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh, where she was the STEAM (Science Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) Manager, overseeing all STEAM education programs. During her tenure, she took part in the state of Black Pittsburgh-2019, discussing the importance of the STEAM pipeline in Pittsburgh Region. Before her employment at the Urban League, she was a Product Manager for Fisher Scientific in charge of several multimillion-dollar consumable product lines, as well as an inside sales associate. Mrs. Lee also spent many years in an Environmental lab analyzing water and soil samples while preparing reports for the United States Government. Mrs. Lee has been married to her husband Rev. Van T. Lee, Jr. for over 30 years and is the mother of three wonderful children. Mrs. Lee enjoys crafting, reading, and is an active member at Rodman Street Missionary Baptist Church, where she sings in the choir.

Speakers Series with Dr. Jalonne White-Newsome, the White House's Chief Environmental Justice Officer

Our program focuses on the crucial issue of environmental justice, particularly in the face of climate change. The event will take place on Wednesday, May 1st, 2024, 6:00 – 8:30 pm, at the Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens in Pittsburgh.

During her talk, Dr. White-Newsome will shed light on the disproportionate impact of environmental pollution and climate change on low-income neighborhoods and communities of color.
