Cassandra Brown

Cassandra Brown is a nurse practitioner for Pittsburgh Public school district.
Cassandra is a registered nurse of approximately 25 years. She furthered her education graduating from Carlow University in 2009 with her first Masters degree in Nursing Administration, education and leadership and obtained a second Master’s degree as a family nurse practitioner in 2014. Cassandra has been an advocate with family support for almost 30 years. She serves on the advisory committees of the Institute of Medical and Business Careers, Women and the Healthy Environment, Black Women’s Policy Agenda, Healthy Schools and the Board of Directors for the Rosedale Food Pantry.

Speakers Series with Dr. Jalonne White-Newsome, the White House's Chief Environmental Justice Officer

Our program focuses on the crucial issue of environmental justice, particularly in the face of climate change. The event will take place on Wednesday, May 1st, 2024, 6:00 – 8:30 pm, at the Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens in Pittsburgh.

During her talk, Dr. White-Newsome will shed light on the disproportionate impact of environmental pollution and climate change on low-income neighborhoods and communities of color.
