Samantha Hernandez, MPH

Samantha Hernandez (she/her/hers) is a Program Manager for the Healthy Learning Program at Women for a Healthy Environment in Pittsburgh. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Texas at El Paso and a Master of Public Health degree in Epidemiology with a Certificate in Health Equity from the University of Pittsburgh School of Public Health.

As a graduate student, Samantha was an Assistant Program Manager at the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy’s Program Evaluation and Research Unit where she assisted in the implementation and evaluation of a CDC-funded community-based research project focused on Veteran suicide prevention in Northwest Pennsylvania.

Additionally, with the support of the Black Equity Coalition, a Pittsburgh coalition that is committed to achieving racial equity across the social determinants of health, Samantha’s academic research is focused on neighborhood change and population displacement in Allegheny County.
