Amanda Jimcosky (she/her) joined Women for a Healthy Environment in May 2022. She is the Program Manager of WHE’s Healthy Homes Asthma Program, which provides home renovations for families with children experiencing low income in Allegheny County. She earned her MPH and a certificate in LGBTQ+ health and wellness at the University of Pittsburgh. As someone who grew up in rural Pennsylvania and settled in Pittsburgh, she is passionate about revitalizing the Commonwealth’s housing stock in equitable and sustainable ways to prolong the lifespan of existing structures while increasing capital for our most marginalized communities. By centering public health, she hopes to develop a system that adequately considers the health of occupants and workers, the needs of a residential construction workforce, and long-term outcomes. In her free time, she enjoys reading, completing home projects, participating with local organizations, and having game nights with friends.
