Kate Wolfe is the Healthy Learning Coordinator with Women for a Healthy Environment, where she works at the intersection of environmental health, education, and community engagement. With a background in biology and public health, Kate brings a deep commitment to food justice and environmental equity. From developing garden-based learning initiatives in her hometown to serving as a sustainability fellow during her graduate studies, she has worked to understand the barriers and facilitators to increasing food security. Her experiences reflect a core belief: everyone deserves access to food that is safe, affordable, nourishing, and culturally appropriate.
Kate leads the Eco-Student Stewardship Program, which uses a curriculum aligned with PA STEELS standards for grades 6–12 to explore local watershed health, air quality, climate change, and waste systems. Students complete service-learning projects that address real environmental issues in their communities. She also helps childcare sites identify everyday environmental risks and make practical changes that improve indoor air quality, reduce toxic exposures, and support child development.
