What Your Gift Can Do
- With $25, we can provide an environmentally friendly welcome kit to an early learning center.
- For $50 a family can get clean filtered water in their home.
- It takes only $100 to conduct a water quality test at a school.
- With $250 we can give a workshop on water safety
- We can advocate for stronger water safety policies with $500
Your support promotes healthy spaces for every child to learn, grow and thrive.
Your generosity makes it possible to decrease harmful environmental factors that impact health and create healthy spaces for all. Consider the following facts:
-
Pennsylvania is among the top states for lead exposure and poor air quality
-
Over 4,000 children under age 6 test positive for elevated blood lead levels each year.

A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a philanthropic opportunity that allows you to transfer a variety of assets into an investment account that is specifically earmarked for charity. You receive a tax deduction when you create and/or contribute to your DAF.
Each DAF provider has different fees, minimums, and other rules, but with each type, whether at a commercial provider or community foundation, you can contribute to your fund over time and recommend grants at your discretion, providing flexibility to your giving strategy.
Additional benefits of using a DAF include:
- Ability to set up recurring annual, quarterly, or monthly grants
- Option to name successor donor advisors (such as children or grandchildren)
- All or part of your DAF’s balance can be gifted to a charitable beneficiary like WHE as part of your estate planning.
