Apply Now: WHE’s Healthy Homes Asthma Program for Families in Allegheny County

Applications open now through Friday, May 23, 2025. Applications for WHE’s current Healthy Homes Asthma program won’t be open much longer!

This home repair program strives to create healthier homes for low-income
families with children throughout Allegheny County and prioritizes families that also
have individuals suffering with asthma or other respiratory illnesses. Allegheny County
has a reputation for poor air quality. This program helps make home a healthier place to
breathe clean air through a combination of home repair and educational interventions.

The interventions taken may include:
• Repairing leaking roofs, windows, and downspouts
• Installing kitchen and bathroom exhausts
• Sealing water and pest infiltration points
• Repairing general safety hazards, such as damaged stairs, GFCI outlets, and CO
detectors
• Resident education on environmental hazards and green cleaning techniques

Do You Qualify for the Program?
1. Are you a renter or homeowner in Allegheny County?
2. Does your household’s annual income (pre-tax) fall within the limits in the chart
below?
3. Are there children under 18 living in the home?
4. Is there someone with asthma or other respiratory illness living in your home?

If you live in the county and meet income requirements, fill out our eligibility form and a
staff member will reach out with more information on how to complete the application.
Priority is given to households with children who have asthma.
