Bio

Andrea Vidaurre, a 2024 Goldman Environmental Prize winner—the “Green Nobel”—is a fearless climate justice advocate who took on the powerful trucking industry and won. As co-founder of People’s Collective for Environmental Justice, she led efforts that will phase out diesel trucks by 2035, protecting frontline communities from toxic air pollution. Her work has reshaped environmental policy, proving that grassroots action can drive systemic change.

In April, Andrea was named Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People of 2025 for her leadership.

From Time Magazine

…As co-founder of the People’s Collective for Environmental Justice, Andrea has a unique ability to find the intersection of policy and people. She’s used this skill to advocate for regulations that limit trucking and rail emissions, though such policies face an uphill battle under the new U.S. Administration. Her work shines a light on the compounding inequities that marginalized populations are often left to shoulder, and amplifies what has become a rallying cry for her community: “We’re just trying to breathe.” …

A note on sustainability

Tonight’s event is intentionally low-waste.  We’ve partnered with Reimagined Recycling to use repurposed wine bottles as decor. These will return for future events rather than being discarded.

Black Radish is serving food in small batches to reduce waste. Any untouched items that haven’t been opened will be donated to food pantries.

You’re welcome to take home a bouquet from the floral centerpieces. We ask that the vases stay behind so we can reuse them.
