Checklist for a green and healthy learning environment

Green and Healthy Learning Environment

Initiates steps toward recognition in the state's Green Ribbon Schools Program.

Eligibility

Open to all public and private K-12 schools and school districts in Pennsylvania.

Timeline

Applications will be accepted on a rolling admission basis until the deadline on April 22 (Earth Day).

Levels of Honor Recognition

  • A celebration luncheon will be held mid-May to honor awardees
  • Each school will receive a Healthy School Recognition Program certificate and deal to display
  • Healthy Schools will keep a record of each schools report card so each year the school may work toward completion of additional activities
  • Application will include completed checklist and photos.
  • Healthy Schools may request a walk-through of the school
  • Photos will be use for PR purposes in various media

Emerging Schools

Completion of at least 15 activities listed on checklist.

Honor Roll

Completion of at least 30 activities listed on checklist.

High Honor Roll

Completion of at least 50 activities listed on checklist.

High Honor Roll

Completion of at least 75 activities listed on checklislt.
